Pride in Dalby is inspiring campaign

DALBY residents are being encouraged to think local over the next two months as the Think Local Love Dalby campaign launches next week.

The campaign aims to encourage residents to buy goods and services from local businesses.

The campaign is being run by Dalby Chamber of Commerce during October and November.

Businesses around the region are getting behind the promotion with a raffle aimed at enticing as many people to shop locally as possible.

One of organisers of this year's Think Local Love Dalby, Mysty Van Der Linde, said growing the business sector of Dalby was the main focus.

"We are encouraging locals to shop locally,” she said.

"The money comes back into Dalby and it encourages people to look locally before considering other towns to purchase goods.

"Being Dalby Proud and pushing local business will result in endless positives for the town.”

Buying locally will have an added bonus to consumers this year with selected businesses selling tickets into the campaign raffle. The winning prize will be an outdoor entertainment package with barbecue and furniture valued at $3000.

The prize has been donated by Sunshine Mitre 10. Trade manager Steve Van Der Bergh said Think Local Love Dalby was a great way to grow the region.

"It supports locals, puts money back into the town and with that money, the town can grow,” Mr Van Der Bergh said.

The raffle will coincide with the start of the campaign next week and will be drawn at the Street Christmas party at the end of November.
