Picnic races only weeks away

THE 106th running of the Dalby Picnic Races is approaching quickly, with the barriers set to fly open on Saturday, April 28 at Bunya Park Racecourse.

Dalby Amateur Picnic Race Committee president Jane Edwards said while over the years there have been changes to the structure of the event, the community spirit and support for the event has always stayed prominent.

"We have once again been overwhelmed by the interest in this event. Our Oakey Beef Exports Finishing Post Marquee has sold out and we expect our other all-inclusive packages including the Brown Brothers Home Straight Lounge and Windsor Watering Hole to do the same in the next couple of weeks,” Mrs Edwards said.

"Tickets are limited for these packages and I urge race-goers to get their tickets as soon as possible, to avoid missing out.

"For race-goers looking for a casual and relaxed atmosphere, the Black Toyota Marquee is the perfect venue for large groups that want flexibility and a fabulous family friendly precinct.”

The day will feature a bumper seven-race program with $100,000 in prize money, bonuses and prizes on offer. A

ll races on the day will be broadcast on Sky Racing and boast TAB coverage, along with being shown on the Warrego Water Big Screen.

There will also be food stalls and the very popular BMO Calcutta, where guests have the chance to own a horse for a race.

The Dalby Shopping World Fashions on the Field will also be back.
