Man in critical condition after highway accident
Update: The man that was hit by two vehicles on the Warrego Highway last night remains in a critical but stable condition in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
The man was flown to the PA Hospital by an emergency helicopter after he was treated on scene by the Queensland Ambulance Service.
Initial investigations suggest the man was walking west on the highway when he he struck by two vehicles that were also headed westbound.
The Warrego Highway was closed for hours as emergency services attended the scene last night.
Police investigations are continuing.
Friday, 8.30pm: EMERGENCY services are currently treating a person for serious injuries after a car accident on the Warrego Highway between Bowenville and Jondaryan this evening.
The incident happened just after 7pm, with the nature of the incident described as 'vehicle and pedestrian' by a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman.
A QPS media spokeswoman confirmed the nature of the crash.
The highway is currently shut in both directions and may remain closed for some time, with police urging motorists to take alternate routes.
The QAS are carrying out welfare checks on those who witnessed the accident.
It is believed an emergency helicopter has been called for the man.
