Learning about life on stage
BUDDING actors and performers have gathered this week at the Dalby Little Players theatre to learn skills to add to their on stage arsenal.
The event was organised by the Dalby Eisteddfod in conjunction with the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba.
Committee member Megan Cartwright said the three-day speech and drama workshop went well.
"We've had good numbers and have kids from different areas, not just Dalby,” she said.
"It's really reached out to rural areas.
"The kids have been learning things that will help them in general life, along with analogues, poems and mimes.”
The workshop was made possible by a grant from Western Downs Regional Council and Dalby Little Players Theatre for lending their venue.
Councillor Carolyn Tillman said workshops such as this were vital.
"Anything you do to give kids confidence is so important in this day and age,” she said.
"They're our future leaders and we need to support them every step of the way.”
