Drunk driver caught at almost four times the legal limit

A 33-YEAR-OLD Kumbarilla man had his licence suspended on the spot after Dalby police caught him driving with a blood alcohol reading of 1.59.

Sergeant Sean Donaghy said officers intercepted the man while he was driving on Nicolson St, about 8.10pm, on May 23.

"He was nearly four times the legal limit," Sgt Donaghy said.

The man will face the Dalby Magistrate on June 2, charged with a high-range drink driving offence.

In an unrelated matter police charged a 26-year-old man with two counts of supplying dangerous drugs.

Police allege a search of the man's phone revealed evidence he supplied methamphetamine and cannabis from May 1-22.

The man was charged on May 22 and given a notice to appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court at a later date.

A 24-year-old Dalby woman will also face the magistrate for her part in a disturbance at the intersection of Cunningham St and Drayton St, about 12.20pm, on Monday.

Sgt Donaghy said police observed the woman exit a vehicle driven by a man "she was not meant to be with" due to a temporary domestic violence order.

"Police spoke to the man and the woman approached the officers calling them, 'dogs, idiots and using other foul language,'" he said.

Police arrested the woman and took her to the watch house to be charged with public nuisance.

"She turned violent, became abusive and refused to go into the cell," Sgt Donaghy said.

Police charged the woman with public nuisance and obstructing police.

She will appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on June 23.
