A little Mexico hits Dalby for new fiesta

WHAT started as a love for art and an aptitude for illustrating drew Emma Read from Social Collective Events to start her own business bringing joy to local communities through art, and maybe a cocktail or two.

Ms Read hosted her second Paint and Sip event at Dalby Leagues Club on Friday night, bringing a little Mexico to Dalby with a fun fiesta.

With sombreros in tow and plenty of tequila flowing, the ladies of Dalby Leagues Club were challenged to paint a cactus arrangement.

But Ms Read has big ambitions and plenty of ideas on ways to bring plenty more joy to a more diverse crowd.

As an art therapy and aged care student, Ms Read hopes to one day create painting workshops as a way of therapy and to aid mental health in communities around the country.

Ms Read also hopes to create “ageless play” workshops, combining her love for aged care and art.

While she’s only been running her business for a year, Ms Read has travelled around the state and is showing no signs of slowing down.
